The three-time All-Star will return to the Olympics after averaging a team-high 5.7 rebounds in Tokyo. The 27-year-old score-first guard will feature in his second straight Olympics after averaging 9.3 points in Tokyo. Booker’s 27.1 points per game this past season ranked sixth in the NBA. He also added 6.9 assists per game, earning his fourth All-Star selection and a spot on the All-NBA third team.

Stephen Curry

Team: Golden State Warriors | Previous Olympics: none

Curry is a four-time champion, two-time league MVP, 10-time All-Star, and the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers with 3,747 and counting. The one thing missing from the résumé? An Olympic gold medal. Now, at 36 years old, Curry will play in his first Games and look to earn that coveted hardware under his head coach, Steve Kerr. He averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds last season.

Anthony Davis

Team: Los Angeles Lakers | Previous Olympics: 2012

Davis was 19 and had not played a single minute in the NBA when he made his only Olympic appearance in 2012. He last suited up for Team USA at the 2014 FIBA World Cup. Davis averaged 24.7 points and 12.6 rebounds this past season, earning a ninth All-Star appearance and fifth all-defensive team selection. He is the only player to win Olympic gold, FIBA World Cup gold, an NCAA title, and an NBA championship.

Kevin Durant

Team: Phoenix Suns | Previous Olympics: 2012, 2016, 2021

Durant is the US men’s all-time leading scorer at the Olympics with 435 total points. He also leads in scoring average (19.8), field goals (146), 3-point field goals (74), and free throws (69). Durant is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, the reigning Olympics MVP, and a three-time USA Basketball male athlete of the year. He will join Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James as the only Americans to play in four Olympics. A 14-time All-Star, league MVP, and two-time NBA champion, Durant averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists last season.

Anthony Edwards

Team: Minnesota Timberwolves | Previous Olympics: none

At 22, Edwards will play in his first Olympics as the youngest player on Team USA’s roster. He played for the United States at the FIBA World Cup last summer and was named to the All-Star Five, scoring a team-high 18.9 points per game. Edwards earned an All-NBA second-team selection this past season, averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists as Minnesota made the Western Conference Finals.

Joel Embiid

Team: Philadelphia 76ers | Previous Olympics: none

Embiid will make his Olympic debut after choosing to play for the US over France and Cameroon. Embiid was born in Cameroon and also holds French and American citizenship but has lived in the US since he was 16. Embiid was hampered by injury this past season, but in 39 games he averaged 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. He is a league MVP, seven-time All-Star, and three-time all-defensive team selection.

Tyrese Haliburton

Team: Indiana Pacers | Previous Olympics: none

The two-time All-Star point guard had a team-high 5.6 assists at last summer’s FIBA World Cup and will make his Olympic debut. Haliburton averaged 20.1 points and a league-leading 10.9 assists this past season as the Pacers made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals before being swept by the Celtics.

Jrue Holiday

Team: Boston Celtics | Previous Olympics: 2021

Holiday will make his second Olympic appearance. In Tokyo, he led the team with 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals, and his 11.8 points ranked third. The 34-year-old guard is a two-time All-Star, six-time all-defensive teamer, and the 2020-21 sportsmanship award winner. In Holidays’s first season in Boston, he averaged 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists to earn his second NBA title and help the Celtics to their 18th championship banner. His wife, Lauren, has two golds of her own, having played for the US women’s soccer team in 2008 and 2012.

LeBron James

Team: Los Angeles Lakers | Previous Olympics: 2004, 2008, 2012

After a 12-year hiatus, LeBron James is back in the red, white, and blue. On Friday he became the first US men’s basketball player to serve as the flag bearer at the opening ceremony. James won Olympic gold in 2008 and 2012 and bronze in 2004. In the US Olympics record book, James is first in assists (88), tied for second in games played (24), and third in points (273). For the Lakers in 2023-24, the 39-year-old averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds in his 20th straight All-Star season.

Jayson Tatum

Team: Boston Celtics | Previous Olympics: 2021

Tatum will make his second Olympic appearance. In Tokyo, he was Team USA’s second-leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points on 49.3 percent shooting from the field and 44.7 percent from 3. Tatum was the only player on the US roster to feature on the All-NBA first team this past season. He averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. In the playoffs, Tatum led the Celtics in points (25.0), rebounds (9.7), and assists (6.3) per game as Boston went 16-3 en route to the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Derrick White

Team: Boston Celtics | Previous Olympics: none

An All-Defensive second-teamer in each of the last two seasons, White was the final addition to Team USA after Kawhi Leonard dropped out earlier this month. He is the only member of Team USA without an All-Star appearance. However, he was carefully selected for his two-way versatility and ability to play alongside other stars. As the Celtics’ fourth-scoring option this past season, White averaged 15.2 points, 5.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and shot 39.6% from 3. He bumped his scoring up to 16.7 points per game in the playoffs as the Celtics won the title.
